Upcoming Elections

Frederick County voters will cast their votes in 2024 for President of the United States, U.S. Senate (Maryland), Congressional District 6, and three seats on the Frederick County Board of Education.

GENERAL ELECTION DATES TO REMEMBER

• EARLY VOTING: Thursday, 10.24.2024 - Thursday, 10.31.2024
  
• GENERAL ELECTION: Tuesday, 11.05.2024
  • Polls are open 7 AM - 8 PM

There are three ways to vote. Choose ONE option that best suits you.

• OPTION 1: VOTE EARLY at any of the Early Vote Centers.
  • Early voting centers are open 7 AM - 8 PM, including Saturday and Sunday.

• OPTION 2: VOTE BY MAIL (wording from the Frederick Co. Board of Elections website)
  • Any registered voter may vote by mail-in ballot. You don't need a reason to vote by mail-in ballot. It's another way to vote if you don't want to or can't go to an early voting center or your polling place. Learn more here.
  • Four essential steps are outlined on the State Board of Elections website that you should know when completing your Mail-in ballot:
    1) Use a Black Ink Pen to Mark your Ballot (Do not use a Sharpie),
    2) Sign the Return Envelope. Do Not Sign the Ballot,
    3) Seal Your Return Envelope, and
    4) Send your Ballot using the PostagePaid Return Envelope or drop it in one of the approved Ballot Drop Boxes.

    In 2024, the Frederick County Board of Elections will have 10 convenient, secure, and monitored locations to drop off your ballot! Ballot drop boxes are under 24-hour surveillance. The approved Drop Box locations are listed here.
• OPTION 3: VOTE IN PERSON ON ELECTION DAY
  You must vote at your assigned polling location. The polls are open from 7 AM to 8 PM.

These boundaries are adjusted every ten years, based on how the population changes, and help to make sure that the people in each district are equally represented.
